Boy did this make my week! What I think is funnier is not the person who can't get what the "book" is but the person "training" him. Sometimes you feel so silly asking the questions, assuming they would know what is going on, when in fact, they don't even know what it is used for! I think it would have been even funnier if the "expert" where given the small book and wasn't able to figure that one out because it didn't look like the big book.

One of the funniest aspects of this video was the predictability of what would happen when he closed the book so the back cover faced up. I saw that one coming from a mile away, and it was still chuckle-worthy. I can't say I haven't felt like this apparently 16th century help technician many times, trying to help people with a computer.

This is one of my favourite little video bits. I've used it when I've done short presentations on the basic Web 2.0 tools (RSS readers, blogs, wikis, social bookmarking) to people who don't really know what they are except that their children use them. It's a great opener to pull them out of their shells and let them know it's time to move into a new era besides just using email. It let's them see the humour a bit in themselves and in their reluctance to learn new tools.

This is great! I am going to use this in a training session next week to put some of the participants at ease. Thanks for the idea.

One part that went by very quickly but really resonated was the bit about turning the page not being as fast/convenient as a scroll.

Oooh, that was spot on...
